I jumped to far and the other posts were off.

The method I give those work for n=2.

It doesn't limit prime factors of z-x and z-y.

It does require that no such factors other than 1,2 or 3 be squared in

z-x or z-y (I think, but I'm not betting the farm).

The problem for me came because for n=2 there isn't a requirement that
z-x have factors of f^2 or 2f^2 which is the case for higher n odd

I'll figure the details on my own time but won't bother posting.
