Integral as Accumulator

I *just* rejoined this list, so forgive me if I'm asking an already
thoroughly discussed topic:

I'm interested in applications/illustrative examples of the definite
integral as an accumlator of rates of change. Besides accumlating lots of
(velocity) * (times ) to get distance, that is. No need for a lot of
explaination, just looking to be fed a few ideas.
