ap and honors courses

At our school we are in the midst of discussion on student grades for AP
and honors classes. I would appreciate responses from those of you who
teach in secondary schools:

1) Does your school use an alphabetical grading system (i.e., A, B,
C, D, F) or a numerical grading system?

2) Do students taking honors or AP classes get some type of grade
boost added to the grade you report? If so, how is it done?

I hope these questions are not too far afield and I appreciate any time
