Dear Fellow List Subscribers,
I edit "Focus on Basics", which used to be published by NCSALL and is now published by World Education.
I am planning an issue on numeracy. If you: - are doing any research (academic or teacher) on numeracy that you think might be suitable for the issue; - know of a teacher or program doing a great job in numeracy that you think might be suitable as the topic of an article; or - would like to serve on the editorial board for that issue please let me know. You can contact me via this list or off list at b.garner4@verizon.net
Some information on being on the editorial board: this involves reading drafts of each article carefully and participating in a conference call to discuss them. So the time it takes is equivalent to reading a full issue of "Focus on Basics" at least three times. There tend to be about 10 conference calls spread over about 3 months. Part participants say it's an intellectually interesting activity.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for any help you can give! Barb Garner Editor, "Focus on Basics"
