Several years ago I read a relatively thin book comparing how math is understood/taught in middle school between the U.S. and certain Asian countries. The author, a woman, is Asian; she interviewed teachers and the book detailed these discussions. For some reason, I seem to think she researched this topic for a thesis. Might anyone know the title of this book, or the author?
Thanks,
Angie
