These are some questions that I derived that I feel I would need answers to in order to successfully proceed in my semester project. Please feel free to respond to any or all of the questions. All replies will be considered useful and will be greatly appreciated.

1) How do students get enrolled into advanced math courses without a strong foundation in the basic math skills?

2) What is your opinion on a math classroom that restricts or prohibits the use of calculators?

3) Can a teacher succeed in today's classroom where these restrictions exist?

4a) How do you think the Department of Education would react to a teacher with such an approach?
4b) How do you think the students would react to this?
4c) The parents?

5) What other alternatives do you see that will improve the students' basic foundations in math?
