After spending the morning giggling with my students over the rate of raw sewage at a treatment center (fortunately I enjoy a good pooh-pooh joke as much as any high school student), I promised I would ask you all this question: WHO WRITES THIS STUFF?? This particular question is the first Free Response on both the AB and BC Audit-Approved sample test. Do the authors use real situations and actual data? Do they not realize that we will be standing in front of a room full of teenagers, trying to keep a straight face, while the sewage hits the fan? Actually, it was a pretty fun day, but I am curious as to where the data comes from!

By the way, if any of you like to write your own comparable questions to give as a quiz after discussing the Free Response homework (which is what I do), avoid my mistake: Don?t change this particular problem to a vat of liquid chocolate in the hopes of making it all seem sweeter - the resulting comparisons were not pretty!!
