SMART Board or Elmo

Our high school math department is being asked to develop a technology plan for the next five years. We are debating as to whether our needs would be better met by purchasing SMART Boards for our classrooms or by purchasing Elmo's. Could those of you using either or both of these technologies comment on which they would choose and why?
