Texas Instruments is looking schools to participate in a pilot program which gives TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS software to each student for use at school and home Pilot Participant Criteria:
* Are currently in the classroom teaching Geometry and Algebra 2. * Use TI-Nspire (in Nspire mode) or TI-Nspire CAS handhelds frequently. * Either: * Require students to purchase TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS handhelds or have handhelds checked out to them that they have full-time use of (are able to take home with them anytime) *Note: All students must have a handheld available to them for in school and out of school use. We will not be supplying handhelds. * Have a class set of TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS handhelds. * Students must have a computer at home that they can install the TI-Nspire/TI-Nspire CAS software on and use. * Cannot be at a laptop school and students cannot have a laptop that they take to use at school. * Must have access to and ability to install TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS software on computer lab computers or classroom computers for student use at school Texas Instruments would be providing the pilot teacher with a copy of either TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS Teacher Edition software and all students with a copy of either TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS computer software. This would be mailed out at the beginning of November. Expectations would be that we would be able to visit and observe the pilot teacher's classroom and teachers and students would need to complete surveys throughout the pilot program.
