PROJECT DIRECTOR: MATHEMATICS TEACHER TRANSFORMATION INSTITUTES SALARY: $50,000-60,000 (80% fte) GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Mathematics Teacher Transformation Institutes (MTTI) is a five-year, five-million-dollar project at Lehman College, CUNY, funded by the National Science Foundation (2009-2013). MTTI aims to develop mathematics teacher leaders in Bronx middle and high schools through a program of mathematics enrichment and leadership development. Program activities will take place at Lehman College and in participants? schools. Coordinating with the PI and Co-PIs, the financial manager, the program evaluator, and school-system partners, the MTTI project director will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including recruitment and registration of participants, partner involvement, field activities, budget and payroll, and program reporting. The director will also lead workshops as needed, and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in mathematics education and use of technology.
· Minimum of a Master?s Degree in mathematics education or urban education; · A professional record of successfully creating, leading, and administering related instructional or service programs, conducting needs analyses, designing curricula or administrative systems, and working with diverse adult populations; · Knowledge of the New York City school system; and · A willingness to comply with all RF/CUNY policies and procedures regarding staffing, budgeting, safety, reporting, and grants administration as evidenced by signing an attestation at the time of employment.
