was read with great interest. Several M-H-L members may be interested as well.
My view of the paper is, it appears that one well known view of RMP 40 was not cited in Miatello's excellent set of references. The omitted view unified RMP 40, RMP 64 and the Kahun Papyrus arithmetic progression problems into a single formula. John Legon published his paper on the topic in 1992. The 1992 formula was modified after a minor error was pointed out in 2005. The three problems are included in an updated formula, and is published on Wikipedia per:
with Legon's 1992 paper available by external link.
At some point several M-H-L readers may wish to discuss Robins-Shute's view of RMP 31 and RMP 34, and other issues, such as false position, in the context of Luca Miatello's interesting paper.
