i would be interested in reading the paper which approaches fractions as points

on a number line. it seems somewhat limiting - one view- but perhaps it would
help the students.

i do not think of "invert and multiply" as a definition. i also try to help my
students understand why it works. i would be interested in finding out about
the responses some of the students gave. mark klespis and i have been collecting data on student responses to these types of questions for a long time. are you interested in joining our mini-research project sally? would anyone else be]
interested?
