Some highlights :
on the theory of light, with Descarte's "Le Monde" (1664), Malus (see below), and all important papers by Fresnel (the installation of wave theory of light in 1816, the "tracking formula" in 1818 and the characterisation of the transversal nature of light phenomenon in 1821). 1796 "Neue Entdeckungen", or the announcement by Gauss of his construction of the heptadecagon : the very first paper by Gauss. a series of "Journal de l'Ecole polytechnique", from the first (1795) to 1813, where to find some important memoirs by Cauchy, Fourier, Laplace, Lagrange, Malus, Monge and Poisson another series of weekly "Comptes Rendus de l?Academie des Sciences de Paris", with interesting articles by Cauchy, Darboux, Hadamard, Picard, Poincare (his first "Analysis situs" papers) and Stieltjes. Hadamard's thesis (1892). Sophus Lie's "Theorie der Transformationsgruppen" of 1880.
