I agree. I called the CTB people. The answer I received is "Although, we (CTB) may be wrong. We (the teachers) need to be consistent with the scoring so the point must be deducted". I also pointed out the fact that the definition of a line graph provided by the state in their glossary says line segments. I called NYSED and the answer was basically the same with the addition of the statement that since the information given indicates a linear function a ray is appropriate. I agreed with appropriate and completely disagree with required. I was told the same that we need to be consistent in the grading. I voiced my disagreement and was advised to write a letter.
