Zimpher -- I *think* -- was one of the authors) on three different teacher
ed programs that were judged to be highly effective. It might also be worth
reading (the publication date was circa 1989). If you'll send me a
"personal" email, I'll elaborate on my thoughts. It's a bit off-topic for
the list.
