1-manifold homeomeorphic to R

, `Classification of manifolds', it is stated that a connected 1-topological
manifold is homeomorphic to R. Unfortunately, the demonstration implies some
chapters that are not available, and John M. Lee's book is not cheap at all.

Can anybody suggest a place where to find a complete demonstration of that
important result?
