In the land of Oz, the math teacher issues each student a maricle TI calculator on the first day of class which teaches the student all the math he/she needs to know. The teacher than disappears until the last day of the semester when the teacher administers the final exam. The exam is processed perfectly by the students calculator and everyone gets an A.
Mean while in the central valley of California, teachers actually teach math all semester long giving students an opportunity to learn math. The use of calculators is restricted and students are actually forced to use their dormant brains. Mean while independent experts(?)in conspiracy with TI marketeers pitch their outrageously expensive training courses where teachers are taught how to establish student calculator dependency. Thats real life for you.
