The Joint Committee is the ASA/NCTM Joint Committee on the Curriculum in
Statistics and Probability. Just about the time that members of this
committee started to develop the QLP materials, they organised a booth in
the exhibitors area where teachers of Statistics at the prec-college level
(not too many of us in those days) met to share experiences and news. The
tradition has continued over the years and ,I assume, still continues.
