Thanks to Albert Coons for his excellent summary of the AP statistics teachers' meeting. Here are a few brief comments on the questions raised.
Why were we not on the program? We were not invited.
You'll have to be more specific about the books. Which book(s) do you think is out of print? What are the new ones you would like to see considered? As you know, there are many introductory statistics books and the Committee has not made an exhaustive study of all of them. With proper supplementation, many books could work for this course.
Computer output is NOT confined to Minitab. It will, however, be generic enough, and labeled well enough, for students to recognize the statistical summaries being computed.

A draft of the Teacher's Guide should be available by summer. The finished product will not be ready until fall, according to my understanding.
