We have, at last, now got a procedure to obtain copies of past
discusssions. That's the good news. The not so good news is that the format
of the archives is not very convenient. It would need a lot of editing to
make them useful. But here is the procedure for those who might be
interested in pursuing this.

The following procedures are :

1. send this mail message to majordomo@etc.bc.ca to ask for an index of
the list

index apstat-l

2. You will the following message back from majordomo. I am quoting the
full
index I just received to save you one step.

END OF COMMANDS

3. "apstat-l.9609" with extension ".9609" is the file that was created
for the messages
in Sept 1996. So, if you want to retrieve the whole file, you may
use the command "get <list> <filename>"

e.g. send this message to majordomo@etc.bc.ca,
get apstat-l apstat-l.9609

then majordomo would send you a message that contains all the
email messages of the whole month in Sep 1996.

I have not verified the last step yet, since I am not subscribed to
apstat-l under my new
email address (NB jswift@mail.sd70.bc.ca)
