What follows is Minitab's response to the question about whether they will be bundling Minitab Mac with text books. Those of us who are concerned might call Rob Steward (as explained below) as soon as possible:
=================================================================== FROM MINITAB:
I spoke with my manager about the other versions of the Student Edition you were interested in seeing bundled. He stated that the only version we are bundling in the Windows version. Rationale was that the code for the Mac and DOS Student Edition's is older and has changed over the years. In order to rewrite it for a Student Version would take a great deal of time and cost. If we were to come out with a Mac Student Version it would be a brand new product and would not be as inexpensive as the existing product. So, no plans are in the works for bundling for the Macintosh or DOS Student Versions.
I have expressed your concerns to my manager.
If you wish to express them directly, his name is Rob Stewart and can be contacted at the MINITAB Address you have. If you have any other questions or concerns please let me know.
Have a great day!
