curve fitting books

I was asked to recommend a reference on fitting equations to data. I do not have anything which is a real good fit to AP Stats. _Regression Analysis by Example_, by Chatterjee and Price (Wiley) is a nice data-centered book. There is a lot here that will be over your head if you have not taken a math. stat. course recently, but you can still learn a lot from the examples. (No, it is not particularly geared to the TI-83!-)
