Hi everyone! I have two questions:

First of all, does anyone know why it is customary to multiply 1.5*IQR in
order to find outliers? In particular, why is it 1.5 and not, for example,

Secondly, is there anyone else out there besides me who will be teaching AP
Stats as a one semester course (at the high school level)? If so, perhaps we
could discuss texts, syllabus, etc. I am a bit panicked due to the time
constraints of a one semester course, even though it was recommended by the
College Board.
