This is a general question about the AP Stats curriculum even though I do
refer to Workshop Stats by Rossman:

I noticed in Workshop Stats that the data files on disk have every data item
entered separately even when the data is given as tallies in the book (for
example in Activity 3-10 (d,e)). It is clear from previous emails that
dealing with frequency data is difficult with Minitab. However, it is very
easy to do on the TI-83 (stat calcs and plots all will handle frequencies).
Ignoring the importance of thinking about this topic as it applies to
general statistics (it is important) do our students need to be able to
handle data in this way for the AP Exam? I assume they do but am I right
that they will not have to use the calculator to actually calculate data with
frequencies?
