i'm sorry but that really wasn't the reference i was thinking of
in my ref file i did find http://at.yorku.ca/cgibin/bbqa?forum=ask_an_algebraic_topologist;task=show_msg;msg=0484.0001 which gives what you want but it's not the one i was thinking of
i wish i could find the cool one that went into sperner's in a very general setting and gave lot's of nice generalisations...
