DEEPWATER HORIZON INCIDENT

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has put together a site full of resources about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. In the left margin, choose "Information for: Students and Teachers" to access data sets as well as articles for the classroom, such as a Q&A that puts large numbers into context, entitled "What's the Story on Oil Spills?"

HABITABLE PLANET INTERACTIVE LABS

Use this set of interactive labs from the Annenberg Media course "The Habitable Planet" to explore the intersection of math and science. Labs tie together common concepts around the themes of:
- Carbon - Demographics - Disease - Ecology - Energy
Each lab consists of a simulator with a series of questions to think about as you explore scenarios, as well as a data table to help students track their data as they progress.
