He has come to believe "that approaching algebra through the study of functions using symbolic and graphical representations simultaneously and in parallel from the outset is a pedagogically powerful teaching and learning strategy." HPM is seeking abstracts for 30-40 minute talks on the history of mathematics, the teaching of mathematics, and the history of teaching mathematics, especially those directly relevant to mathematics classrooms.
