Auto composition yields exponential

I found this problem on Yahoo! Answers and although the poster indicated he had a solution it cannot be correct. Since the problem is very interesting, I thought I'd let the brain trust here have a go at it. So far I've made very little progress and perhaps someone here will solve it before I do, which would be favorable to me as well.

Problem: Find the function g(x) such that g(g(x)) = 2^x.
