The self-paced sessions are one week in length, and include activities followed by discussion prompts to encourage you to ask questions and/or discuss the features covered. Technology Problems of the Week (tPoWs) http://mathforum.org/pd/orientation_tpow/ October 14 - 20, 2010 Registration closes at 5:00 pm Eastern, Monday, October 11. \|/ Please note that our free, community-facilitated workshops have a pre-requisite of completing at least one of the Orientation Sessions. Registration for these workshops opens October 4 for workshops beginning November 4: - Using Technology and Problem Solving to Build Algebraic Reasoning - Technology Tools for Thinking and Reasoning about Probability -|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|- Jump$tart NATIONAL FINANCIAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE http://www.nhjumpstart.org/NationalEducatorConference.htm The Jump$tart Coalition announces its second annual national educator conference for Pre-K-12 teachers devoted specifically to personal finance education. The conference is intended to give classroom educators an opportunity to see, learn about, and try educational resources that can be integrated immediately into current lesson plans; to attend workshops under the three different strands of policy, curriculum/ content, and personal development; and to network with leaders from finance and education. The conference runs November 5 - 7, 2010 at the Capital Hilton, Washington, DC. Teachers may register for a subsidized price of $350 excluding travel. Ten CEUs will be awarded teachers who participate in the entire conference. Registrations are accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

"Journey South" (tracking fall's progress in the northern hemisphere) is beginning now, and you can use that program to prepare for spring's Journey North in your classroom. Free registration is required to share data online. The general public is welcome to participate.
