Most of our reconsideration had to do with the SAT prep factor and the developmental thinking required for the pace of Alg II/Trig.

Careful.  One consideration is the SAT. Most students take the SATs early in their junior year and a significant number of questions are based on Geometry.  Students would be disadvantaged taking the SAT in the fall of their Junior year if they did not complete Geometry in their sophomore year.Tracey FinanMathematics TeacherCroton-Harmon High School----- Original Message -----From: Jennifer Griffin Date: Monday, November 29, 2010 5:17 pmSubject: Re: Geometry for JuniorsTo: nyshsmath@mathforum.org> We offered it last year but switched back to sophomore year this year> > Sent from my iPhone> > On Nov 29, 2010, at 3:37 PM, "barnsky@optonline.net" > wrote:> > > I would not consider Geometry in 11th grade..what then happens > to all of their algebra skills when they go into a pre-calc > course..
