Dear List Subscribers,
PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THE calc-reform address about this message.
Address any replies to mef2@humboldt.edu.
I am saddened by recent events and also to a much lesser extent by the way
this list is being used in the last few days. For sure, people feel a need
to share with others some of their personal responses to the recent
tragedies and related current events, but I see little in what has been
written that is appropriate for this list.
As creator and owner of the list, I usually have let this forum take its
own directions as long as people stay civil and on topic. In the past year
I have asked whether people felt this list should continue and have been
repeatedly asked to change the format for reasons of spamming and misuse
by students thinking that this is a place to get help on their
assignments.
At this point I would like to ask people to stop using this list for any
messages that do not directly relate to the stated topics of the list:
Calculus Reform
calc-reform is a discussion list devoted to the reform of
curriculum and pedagogy for calculus and elementary linear
algebra, including differential equations.
I continue to consider redefining the format of this list and its
continued existence, but I do not wish to see those issues debated on the
list either. You may send your personal views on these issues to me
directly.
I appreciate your membership in this list and hope that the list can still
be of service to you consistent with its stated purpose.
