I am looking to make a small compilations of acronyms (like FOIL) and other mnemonic tools that are being used by math-teachers in English-speaking countries. I am particularly interested in non-US mnemonics.
I should also state in advance that this curiosity arises from a research project--personally, I do not support the use of mnemonic tools in the classroom, except in the direst of circumstances. I will post a summary of the results next week, once I've had a reasonable collection of comments.
I would prefer off-list responses if possible, but I would pick up any responses from lists as well. In particular, if you are responding to the message on one list, please avoid cross-posting it to other lists unless you are already a member.

PS: A copy of this message has also been posted on a couple of more polemical lists. **************************************************************************** * To post to the list: email mathedcc@mathforum.org * * To unsubscribe, email the message "unsubscribe mathedcc" to majordomo@mathforum.org * * Archives at http://mathforum.org/epigone/mathedcc/ * ****************************************************************************
