PoW taking place: math problem-solving moment of the week
"I belive that the second question is a more interesting extension of the main question. This is my belief because it begins to derive a formula that you can use on any polygon -- not just pentagons -- and it makes you think more...." - Doug, highlighted in the Geometry PoW's Latest Solution

GOOGLE SCIENCE FAIR
http://www.google.com/events/sciencefair/
Google recently launched the "first global online science competition," open to students aged 13 to 18 from around the world. The category list for "interesting, creative projects" begins with computer science and math.
Finalists get to present their projects before a panel of scientists that includes Nobel Laureates and tech visionaries. Prizes range from cash scholarships to a 10-day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions; from Android phones to three days visiting the labs of CERN, home of the Large Hadron Collider, in Geneva, Switzerland; and from a year-long virtual internship with LEGO MINDSTORMS conducting research and development to Chrome notebook computers.
