Dear All,
I am thinking about offering tutoring services through Tutorsteach.com.
Has anyone here offered tutoring services through here before? If so,
I would be interested in your experiences with it.
For those who have not but are curious about it, this website is not
an online tutoring center per se but instead provides a way for
self-employed tutors to advertise their services via the Internet.
Thus, there are no formal requirements or job training required
or any other formal application process. The tutors who register
get their own advertising webpage and pay a fee for Tutorsteach.com
to keep advertising for them. Tutors get the first two weeks free
and do not have to pay until they get their first student. I will
have to check into how the fees are paid and when they are due
because that information is not given, as far as I can tell.
Tutorsteach.com does provide an online platform for online tutoring,
which is good because I need one. The only ones I have access to
at the moment belong to the schools I teach for.
Tutors can set their own schedules and how much they charge for
their students.
A number of tutoring websites I have checked out last night are not
clear on their pay rates or minimum commitments. Many also mention
training before starting but often do not give details on how
long the training is. One site (A1 tutoring) appears to be infected
with malware because, while viewing it for information, I suddenly
got a huge warning message that malware has attacked my computer. I do
appear to have gotten rid of it with my anti-virus software because of
its alert to getting rid of it and because of no problems since
last night with my computer.
I would be curious as to what a typical time is for tutors who
register to get their first inquiries from students and parents
and what a typical number of these inquiries is. Of course, I'm sure
that varies from tutor to tutor, but I would not want to use this
site only to get only a handful of them in the next few months or
none at all.
