You would need to getframe() or the like to get the colored image.
Easier is to use the original image array; or if you used a different color map, then ind2rgb(x,map) to get the new RGB.
Though _maybe_ what you are asking about can be answered as "You can set() the Tag property of the image handle you get back from imshow()"
