Not sure if this is the same thing but 20+ years ago, my high school scheduled science labs like this. If you had Biology period 4, then period 5 you had Phys ed 3 days a week and two days you had Bio LAB. Same with Chem and I believe Physics. As a student I loved it--the teachers seemed to like it--talked to one years later and he said he did--gave them time to actually do labs. Of course they then had a bio course 6th period and that class had labs on two other days 5th period. I am pretty positive it was a scheduling nightmare--this was at a time you did most things by hand. Not sure how you could work this with Calc but it may give more options. Just a thought.

Do any of you have the BC kids take the class for two periods a day? We are on a regular 45 - 50 minute class period and it has been suggested that to help our BC students we require the students to take the class for two periods per day. The thought being we could teach normally the first class period, then the second could be for homework support, discovery exercises, projects, etc.
If you have any experience with this kind of situation please share your experiences. Thank you
