PoW taking place: math problem-solving moment of the week
"Sometimes in a problem like this, where there aren't calculations to show, you might not be sure what you should include. To give you some ideas, I've included nine student solutions below. Let's take a look at them...." - Annie, commenting on the FunPoW's Latest Solution

PARTNERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT OF READINESS FOR COLLEGE AND CAREERS
http://www.parcconline.org/K12-educators
In anticipation of the Common Core State Standards, the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) seeks math teachers to
- provide feedback on content frameworks - provide feedback on sample instructional units - pilot sample instructional units - pilot sample additional assessment tasks - participate in leadership cadres
PARCC is a 25-state consortium developing a common set of K-12 assessments in math and English "anchored in what it takes to be ready for college and careers." These new K-12 assessments will build a pathway to college and career readiness by the end of high school, mark students' progress toward this goal from 3rd grade up, and give teachers timely instructional support.
