I am trying to figure out what happens when a query points falls outside the domain defined by dt.

I am trying to look at the code using edit but iut only returns the help.

nearestNeighbor returns the index of the nearest point in DT.X for each query point location in QX (even if outside the domain) . The corresponding Euclidean distances between the query points and their nearest neighbors returned in D are excedingly high.

Is there a way to figure if the query point is "in" the domain ?
