Is it possible to insert a Java applet into a matlab GUI?

I want to put an open office spreadsheet component in my GUI (http://
www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=123055) but don't really
understand how to allocate the region of the GUI I want the
spreadsheet component to cover.

With an activex component, in guide, you can just draw the rectangle
area the component should cover in the GUI, but I don't know how I can
allocate a java component
