Q. What's a "A Framework for K-12 Science Education" got to do with Math Education"
A. If adopted the Framework could affect the way math is taught in K-12.
Ludwik Kowalski (2011) of the Phys-L list, in a post titled "Sharing a link," wrote (in its entirety):
In the language of "PEdants for Definitive Academic References which Recognize the Invention of the Internet (PEDARRII)" this becomes:
"Science Education Shift: A new educational framework swaps breadth of scientific disciplines for depth and emphasizes the process of science" [Scudellari (2011) - scroll down to "REFERENCES" below].
For a brief introduction to "A Framework for K-12 Science Education" see "New from the National Academies: 'A Framework for K-12 Science Education' " [Hake (2011)].
