Hi All- This just in: The public review period will now be open through August 31st. This recommendation was brought to the Leadership Team by the Operational Working Groups (OWG) after hearing feedback from teachers, districts, higher education institutions, and several states, regarding the feedback window for the Model Content Frameworks. While this will push the final release for the frameworks to the end of September, the OWG unanimously agreed that it would be in PARCC?s best interest to get the depth of feedback on the frameworks that will be possible with a longer review time. By extending the window, PARCC will give more opportunity to teachers in particular to respond, as many states? teachers are currently vacationing. On behalf of PARCC, Achieve will share this updated information via the PARCC website, www.parcconline.org.
? FYI ? Education Week article on Model Content Frameworks: We wanted to share the attached article from Education Week about the PARCC Model Content Frameworks. It very nicely outlines the strengths of the documents and includes some helpful perspective from states (Delaware) and national leaders (including the National Education Association). It is available online at: http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2011/08/10/01frameworks.h31.html?tkn=MTSFmFWG2ph9t2ixz2oJ7wL8%2FVUWUhN%2FmLFr&cmp=clp-edweek.
