I am doing a PLC project for my school on the Common Core and what it means for the math curriculum in New York State. Thus far I have been able to find documents linked below that break down the common core by course.

My question is the following: will the Common Core replace the current NYS standards in Integrated Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2/Trig or will the Common Core be added in addition to those standards? Obviously there will be quite a bit of overlap between the current standards and the Common Core; however there will be some areas in which the NYS curriculum is deficient compared to the Common Core; will NYS delete some standards so that we will have the appropriate amount of time to do what the Common Core is asking us to do?

If anyone knows the answers to these questions, I'd be especially thankful for your responses.
