I received this question and I have no clue how to go about answering it. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. there is a + sign with a circle around it, never been taught that before.

x + (with cirlce around it) y = (x +7)(x + 4) - 6k. If x is greater than or equal to y, then k = x. If x is less than or equal to y, then k = 2y. If x + (with cirlce around it) y = 170, find all distinct possible values of y.

I don't even know where to begin.
