MATH FORUM ORIENTATIONS
http://mathforum.org/pd/#sessions
We recently opened three free, self-paced orientations to Math Forum services.
We'd particularly like to invite trialists to this orientation, designed to help members start using the Problems of the Week:

PoW taking place: math problem-solving moment of the week
"Looking back on my work, I think about two things that I could have done better. I think that I could have read the problem better and maybe knew what I was doing more. I forgot about the one roll for each person part until I read the problem over again to check my work! I also want to get more organized with my steps of work. Right now I have math problems scattered all over my paper, and I would like to get them in order and easier to read. One way I can accomplish reading the problem better is that I can read it over in the beginning of my work to make sure that I have got everything in my head." - Molly, highlighted in the FunPoW's Latest Solution

MATH CRAFT
http://mathcraft.wonderhowto.com/
Begun in October, Math Craft explores "mathematically inspired art and architecture through projects, community submissions, and inspirational posts."
The Math Craft blog follows a weekly schedule, with Mondays featuring member submissions to the community corkboard; Tuesdays, a new project of the week; Thursdays, extensions and more mathematical details for the current project of the week; and Fridays, information about artists and artwork in the field, including historical projects and works.
Recent blog posts have included

Now taking place: math education conversation of the hour
"I've got a student who is doing a science research project who asked me this question: 'Are these the same? 65% of infants of diabetic mothers have perinatal iron deficiency.... 65% of mothers with gestational diabetes have perinatally iron deficient babies.... There is a 65% chance that the baby of a diabetic mother will be iron deficient.'"

PUTNAM MATHEMATICS COMPETITION PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
http://amc.maa.org/a-activities/a7-problems/putnamindex.shtml
Last Saturday, over 2,000 North American college students spent six hours solving the twelve problems of the William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition.
The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) has already posted the problems and solutions from this year's competition. Check back for the winners and scores.
