Datetick values are not correct

I have data consisting of measurements made monthly, but not on the same days so the spacing is not regular. The date values are in datenum format. I am using datetick() to create date labels for the plot.

However, when the labels are displayed on the plot they year is created as 0000. I am using a mac so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks,

Jeff
