Something about 'elliptic intergral'

Hi all! I have encountered a problem about 'elliptic integral',I've used 'maple' to calculate 'the third kind incomplete elliptic integral'.I got the outcome that it's something like inverse trigonometric function. So it's a outcome of periodicity, but if i want to change it to monotonous outcome, how can i do ? It's something like rigid spinning,i want to calculate the angle it rotates and get a monotonous outcome, but actually i get a periodic outcome if i use the elliptic integral. Actually it's something like the function 'arcsin(sin(theta))',theta is a monotonous variable but finally i get periodic outcome of theta'.How to retrieve 'theta'? I have calculated this by using matlab but can't get the perfect outcome,if someone has good idea, please email me,and we can discuss the problem together. my email: flyinghjgc@163.com
Thanks! sincerely flying
