Some subscribers to Math-Learn might be interested in a recent
discussion-list post "Student Evaluations of Teaching Are Not Valid
Gauges of Teaching Performance - Yet Again!" [Hake (2012)]. The
abstract reads:

ABSTRACT: Dorothea Herreiner alerted the POD list to "Evaluating
Students' Evaluations of Professors" [Braga et al. (2011)] at

In response, Ed Nuhfer pointed to "Does Professor Quality Matter?
