******************************************** Sent at the request of Keiko Yasukawa & Geoff Wake. ******************************************** Topic Study Group 5 (TSG 5) for ICME-12 - updated program for Mathematics education in and for work
The TSG 5 organizing committee is co-chaired by Geoff Wake(UK) and Keiko Yasukawa (Australia), with additional team members Corinne Hahn (France), Ok-Kyeoung Kim (Korea), Tine Wedege (Sweden), Rudolf Straesser (Germany) along with IPC Liaison Morten Blomhoej.
TSG 5 has four 90-minute sessions (July 10, 11, 13, and 14) each of which will be focused on different issues in relation to mathematics education in and for work. Only a small number of papers were submitted and accepted for inclusion in the programme of the Topic Study Group. These papers will be used to stimulate each session with the author(s) using the presentation of their work to generate discussion. It is the intention that a publication will be developed from the work of the group during and beyond ICME-12. On Saturday July 15, we will devote the whole session to posters that have been submitted to the session, and allow participants to examine and discuss the work presented by the poster presenters.
The following timetable for TSG 5 provides details of the schedule.
TSG participants are also alerted to the following session presented by Rudolf Straesser and José Francisco Rodrigues on "Educational Interfaces between Mathematics and Industry (EIMI) - ICMI/ICIAM-study no. 20" on Monday, 9th July, 17.30-19.00 which is expected to provide an interesting and relevant reference for the TSG5 discussions.
