ICME-12 Special Event
Forum For All Chinese Mathematics Educators: Festive and Academic
Gathering of Chinese Descendants and Other Interested Parties
The first Forum for All Chinese Mathematics Educators was held as a
special event of the 9th International Congress on Mathematics
Education (ICME-9), July 2000 in Tokyo/Makuhari, Japan. In the
forthcoming ICME-12, the theme of the two-hour Forum will be as
follows:
Chinese Mathematics Education under International and Comparative
Perspectives: The Characteristics, Strengths, and Weaknesses and the
focus of presentation and discussion will be on Teaching, Teacher,
Teacher Education.
Eminent Chinese mathematics educators will share their observations
and latest thinking about Chinese mathematics education from
international and comparative perspectives. Pre-invited speakers
include Frederick Leung (Hong Kong), Yunpeng Ma (Mainland China),
Feng-Jui Hsieh (Taiwan), Yeping Li (USA), Ngai-Ying Wong (Hong Kong),
Yinbo Zhang (Mainland China), Edith Huang (Taiwan), Meiyue Jin
(Mainland China), Jinfa Cai (USA).
The forum is open to all congress participants. Date/Time: 11 July
2012; 17:00-19:00 (Venue to be confirmed).
