New Paper might be of interest to the Math History List on:

"THE GEOMETRIC GRIDS OF THE HIERATIC NUMERAL SIGNS"

The paper discusses the geometrical designs of the hieratic numeral signs. It shows the regular-grid-patterns of squares upon which, the shapes of the already decoded hieratic numeral-signs, have been designed. Also, it shows the design of some hieratic numeral signs, based on subdividing the circle; and the hieratic signs of modular notation. ?Mediterranean Arhaeology and Archaeometry, Vol. 12, No 1, pp.129-138, July 2012?
